World Parkinson’s Day 2024

11 Apr 2024

On April 11th, every year, we commemorate Parkinson's Day.

Parkinson’s is a neurological condition which affects the brain’s ability to produce dopamine – the chemical which helps us control movement. It’s a type of progressive condition – meaning symptoms appear gradually and slowly get worse, as the brain becomes increasingly damaged over time.

At ACHUCARRO we have different groups and researchers interested in researching the causes of Parkinson’s, a complex disease, like all neurological diseases, and to which we take different approaches.

Federico N. Soria talked to Telecinco to comment the work he his leading on the modelling of PD in experimental animals.

Fabio Cavaliere is the Director of the Basque Biomodels Platform for Human Research were they develop organoids for PD.
