The seventh edition of Neurogune was the largest to date, and a great success
19Jun2026
250 attendees, and more than 130 works were presented in Bilbao on June 19.
Neurogune is the annual scientific meeting that promotes the Basque research system in all areas of neuroscience and is open to the other territories of the New Aquitaine-Euskadi-Navarre Euroregion. The event is held biennially and has previously taken place in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Donostia-San Sebastián, and Iruña-Pamplona. Since its first edition in 2013, spearheaded by ACHUCARRO, this scientific meeting has become a collaborative project and an ideal opportunity for all those conducting brain research in our region to come together.
The latest edition took place at the Bizkaia Aretoa of the University of the Basque Country (EHU) on Friday, June 19th, with a packed program featuring guest lectures by Professors Roelof Hut from Groningen (Netherlands) and Aude Panatier from Bordeaux (Nouvelle-Aquitaine). The congress also received ongoing support from the Euskampus Foundation, which provided transportation from other regional capitals, facilitating travel for the community.
