Dr. Flores Romero returns to the Basque Country after a successful postdoctoral stay in, first at University of Tübingen and then in the University of Cologne, Germany.
Dr. Héctor Flores Romero started his scientific career at the University of Basque Country (UPV-EHU), where I did a Bachelor degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology obtaining first-class honours degree, and a Master in Biomedicine and Molecular Biology. During that period, he collaborated with Dr. Gorka Basañez in the study of the role of mitochondrial lipids in the BCL-2 family proteins interaction network, and gained knowledge in different biophysical and biochemical techniques including model membrane systems and protein purification methodologies.
Joining as an Ikerbasque Research Fellow, he launched the new laboratory of Neuropathology of interorganellar contact sites.
