On this day, July 1, 2012, the Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience research center officially begins its journey.
The beginnings have been longer than expected, since in 2008 we presented the idea and proposal to create this center of the Basque Government.
A financial crisis, a change of government have brought us to the year 2012. In April of this year, the Minister of Education of the Basque Government, Mrs. Isabel Celaá Dieguez, and the Rector of the University of the Basque Country, Dr. Iñaki Goirizelaia Ordorika met with their teams and signed the constitution act of this entity.
HEADQUARTERS AT THE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PARK OF BIZKAIA
The planned location for ACHUCARRO is the Science Park of the UPV/EHU next to the Leioa campus, but that environment is still in others, and is not available, so our center has settled in premises in building 205 of the Science and Technology Park of Bizkaia, in Zamudio.
In addition to developing this new and temporary physical headquarters, we also want to develop a virtual identity that allows us to be known in the world, and for this, in addition to this Web space, we have created profiles on different social networks, to use each channel as a means of communication with different audiences and stakeholders.
