About me

In 2014 I completed a PhD at the University of the Basque Country which focused on the study of Wnt signaling during early neuronal differentiation in human stem cell models. I then joined the Wade-Martins laboratory at Oxford University to complete my post-doctoral training and pursue my interests in Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, and I have since focused on the interplay between aggregation in neurodegeneration. Later, in 2018 I became an Oxford-BMS/Celgene Research Fellow which allowed me to research the role of glia and further investigate the roles of astrocytes and microglia in disease.


I am now a Principal Investigator at Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience where my research laboratory continues to investigate the crosstalk between aggregation and glia in the context of disease.
