Achucarro participates in the second Jakindari gathering to boost scientific culture in the Basque Country
22Oct2026
ACHUCARRO took part in the second gathering of Jakindari, an alliance bringing together nearly a hundred organizations committed to making scientific knowledge accessible to Basque society. The event, organized by the Department of Science, Universities, and Innovation of the Basque Government, took place on October 21 at the Technology Park of Álava in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Jakindari was launched a year ago with the goal of strengthening collaboration among entities dedicated to science communication, leveraging their expertise and capabilities to broaden the reach of their initiatives and foster scientific culture across the Basque Country.
A space to share experiences and build new collaborations
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the alliance’s first year of activity and explore new collaborative opportunities among participating organizations. The program featured presentations of science communication projects, training sessions, and working group spaces designed to identify common interests and propose future initiatives.
During its first year, Jakindari expanded its network to nearly 100 organizations from diverse sectors, including research centers, universities, public institutions, foundations, associations, and cultural centers.
Achucarro’s commitment to science communication
ACHUCARRO’s participation in Jakindari reflects its commitment to scientific outreach and to bringing neuroscience closer to the public. Collaboration between research centers and other organizations facilitates knowledge sharing, the development of new initiatives, and opportunities for citizens to better understand scientific research.
Gatherings like this help strengthen a collaborative network working to bring science to diverse audiences and firmly embed scientific culture as a key part of Basque society.
