Emakumeak Zientzian, a decade weaving networks

Emakumeak Zientzian (“Women in Science“, the Basque Network oto support women un science and technology) celebrates its tenth edition with a vision that doesn’t dwell solely on the past, but looks toward the future. Ten years after its inception, the project reaffirms a clear conviction: although progress has been made, inequalities in science persist. They persist in how knowledge is constructed, in who has a voice, in who leads, and in who continues to be marginalized. Reaching this point has also meant pausing to reflect on why it is necessary to continue, and in this edition, under the motto “Marea bizia gara” / “We are a living tide,” thirty-four Basque organizations emphasize the power of collective action in organizing a program of activities to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, celebrated every year on February 11.
