The Lateral Habenula (LHb) is a small brain structure conserved through the vertebrate lineage. In the last decade a compelling amount of evidence has revealed that the LHb is specialized in aversion encoding. However how the information encoding by the LHb modulates learning has not been understood. During the seminar I will present our past work analyzing how the LHb regulates negative associative learning and our future directions.
