Reproduction in female mammals shows ovarian cycles which involve a synchronisation of the preovulatory LH surge with the transition between the resting and active periods.
Early studies in rodents have reported that the master biological clock, located in the basal hypothalamus, is involved in the regulation of those reproductive cycles and therefore female fertility.
This presentation will discuss the recent data describing how daily cues are integrated in the reproductive neuroendocrine system of female rodents, and how exposure to acute or chronic shits impairs the female reproductive axis and consequently fertility.
