Predoctoral position (R1) in oligodendrocytes and myelin plasticity
We are interested in recruiting a motivated candidate (Predoctoral researcher, PhD candidate) to cover a research position at the Department of Neuroscience (UPV/EHU) and at the Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience. The successful candidate will use chemogenetics in conjunction with electrophysiology and two-photon functional imaging to understand the impact of oligodendrocyte stimulation in myelin plasticity, in synaptic function and in behavior. The position is to start immediately.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary and highly collaborative environment within the Laboratory of Glia and Matrix Biology and will benefit from access to frontline technical resources, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator of the project Dr. MarÃa Domercq.
Contract
The laboratory offers a 1-year contract starting as soon as possible and funded by the Basque Government. However, it is expected that the successful candidate is able to attract funding of his/her own fellowship from the Basque Government, UPV/EHU, FPU program or La Caixa Foundation.
Elegibility
- High academic record (>8) to apply for regional, national and international calls
- Merits:
- Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology or any related field
- High level in Basque
- Fluency in written and spoken English
