Predoctoral position (R1) in brain circuits mapping and behavior

The Laboratory of Brain Circuits Therapeutics is interested in recruiting a motivated candidate to cover a research position at the Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience.

The laboratory offers a 1-year contract with possibility of extension funded by the National Institute of Health, BRAIN Initiative (USA). However, it is expected that the successful candidate is able to attract funding of his/her own fellowship from the Basque Government, UPV/EHU, FPU program or La Caixa Foundation for developing a PhD Thesis. The candidate will use synthetic biology (molecular and biology and virus technologies) for targeted gene expression and brain circuit manipulations. The candidate is also expected to perform stereotactic virus injections in mice and rats, brain slice histology and two-photon functional imaging and animal behavior.

The successful candidate will join a highly enriched and collaborative research environment and will benefit from access to frontline technical resources, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator of the project Prof. Dr. Mazahir T. Hasan.
