Bilbao Advanced Light Microscopy Node Candidate (ALM@BIO)

Euro-BioImaging | Bilbao Node Proposal

The Unidad de Biofísica (a joint center of the University of the Basque Country [UPV/EHU] and the Spanish Science Research Council [CSIC]) and Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience have established a partnership for creating a node within Euro-BioImaging, the large‐scale pan‐European research infrastructure project on the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) Roadmap.

The mission of Euro-BioImaging is to build a distributed imaging infrastructure across Europe that will provide open access to innovative biological and medical imaging technologies for European researchers, and Unidad de Biofísica and Achucarro strive to be part of that network.

Euro-BioImaging started on May 2016 its Interim Operation phase. Visit the website for a complete view on the technologies available in this network.

Available Technologies

Leica TCS g-STED CW SP8 (Achucarro) Super-resolution light/fluorescence microscopy
Leica SP5 (Unidad de Biofísica CSIC-UPVE/HU) Light/fluorescence microscopy
Leica SP5

The member organisations of this node count with different options to contribute to the training of users.

Apart from the one to one user support and training provided by the technicians of the facilites of the node, since 2014 we organise a Course on Advanced Microscopy applied to Biosciences

Apply for Access

Nevertheless, it is strongly recommended that potential users contact informally the Node Candidate for assessing the feasability of the request.
