Deciphering human astrocyte-neuron crosstalk in Alzheimer's disease

A new project of the Arranz Lab awarded by the Alzheimer's Association

The Alzheimer's Association (ALZ.ORG) leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. The Alzheimer's Association Research Grant (AARG) award aims to fund early-career investigators who are less than 15 years past their doctoral degree or post-residency (M.D. or D.O.).

The laboratory of Humanized Models of Disease, led by Ikerbasque Principal Investigador, Dr. Amaia Arranz Mendiguren got one of the Alzheimer's Association Research Grant (AARG) in the call 2021.

This project will explore the interactions between human astrocytes and neurons in the context of Alzheimer's disease and aims to provide insights into the contribution of human astrocytes to the pathophysiology of this disease.
