Genomics for precision medicine: prospects and challenges
Urko Martínez Marigorta

After the strong investments of the last decades, the pace of discovery in the last years in human genetics for complex disease has been astonishing. Now that we know about thousands of genetic risk variants involved in disease aetiology, was it worth it? What are the implications for my disease of choice? What should we all do next? In the seminar, I will reflect on the implications about the architecture of disease, the prospects for individualized management of health, and the main challenges that at present hinder our ability to gear all the wealth of genetic knowledge into precision medicine-based solutions useful in the clinic.
Currently we are hosting our seminar in Zoom. The link is available to external people on request.
