New research project funded by the Tatiana Pérez de Guzmán el Bueno foundation

The SierraLab will work on the mechanisms of dysfunction of microglial phagocytosis in ischemia

Dr. Amanda Sierra and Dr. Jorge Valero, Group Leader and Ikerbasque Research Fellow of the Laboratory of Glial Cell Biology in ACHUCARRO will lead a new research project funded by the Tatiana Pérez de Guzmán el Bueno foundation.

The approved project will receive a total funding of 85.000 euros for direct research costs and its objective is to advance in the identification of mechanisms of dysfunction of microglial phagocytosis in ischemia, analysing the role and mediation of autophagy in that deregulation.
